Winamp error: Can't disk write streams

The standard Winamp plugin OUT_DISK.DLL can only write Winamp's input to disk if the input is a file on your local disk. It cannot record a streaming internet file, failing with the error message "Can't disk write streams".

The OUT_DISK.DLL plugin has never allowed the user to disk write streams (i.e. to ave broadcast streams to disk). I've tried out many versions of that DLL, going right back to Winamp 2.0, and none of them had that capability.

It appears to be Google's policy to stream videos from video.google.com that will only play in a web browser (or with the Google Video Player, which my PC can't run).

I use RealPlayer 8 on my Win ME machine, as it is less resource-hungry than RealOne Player or RealPlayer 10, but have discovered that it can't play some of the Dr Who video clips on the BBC website.
