In the mean time.
For audio streams you need to use direct audio recording software.

These methods can also be used for any other non-recordable streams or to convert playable DRM streams and playable downloaded DRM files to a non-DRM format.
Here are the settings I have used with Camtasia Recorder.
You should set your Color Quality and turn Hardware Acceleration off.
On a XP.
Right click on Desktop - Properties - Settings - Color quality - 16 bit (32 bit will cause a low framerate).
Click Advanced - Troubleshoot - Hardware acceleration - Move slider to None.
Click - OK - Apply - OK.
Run Camtasia Recorder.
Start the video you wish to record. Just to get the settings right.
Once the video player and Camtasia Recorder are both on the Desktop and you have easy access to both, Don't move move the player after it is set.
Make sure your video is playing at Normal or Original or %100 size depending on the player - 320X240 maximum. If it is much bigger then that then choose Half or %50 size if you can. You could try a larger size video but usually the frame rate gets to slow but maybe if you have the newest fastest computer it will work.
Go to Camtasia Recorder and select Capture - Input - Fixed Region - Check Fixed starting point.
Click Select and then select the exact area were the video plays in.
Select Capture - Output - File.
View - Standard. No toolbars need to be checked.
Effects - Annotation - None checked.
Effects - Audio - Record Audio checked.
Effects - Cursor - Hide Cursor selected.
Effects - Zoom & Pan - None checked.
Tools - Options - Video Options - Auto Configure checked. You can try to make your own setting but in most cases Auto Configure works fine.
Tools - Options - Audio Options - Interleave audio every 1 seconds checked.
Make sure the audio capture device is correct.
Audio Setup. It is best to use just PCM (uncompressed audio) when you record. You can always recompress the audio and video later using VirtualDub to MPEG Layer-3.
Choose an appropriate audio format.
If it is a music video something like.
44.100 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo 172kb/sec
If it is just a regular video without music you can use a much lower setting to make the file smaller. Like I said you can always recompress again with VirtualDub after it is recorded to make the sound MPEG Layer-3 which makes the final file much smaller yet.
Restart the video playing and press record on Camtasia and see how it works. You need a good broadband internet connection for this to work. Camtasia will capture the video just as it plays and any problems with the way it streams will be captured as well.
