Posts: 2 12/06/2006 11:17:16	Tags : None Hello all, i am trying to convert an *.asx file into a file with wich i can actually save the complete movie on my HD. I tried several programs but it seems that it doesnt work because the site wich from i want to download is a membership site (of wich i [b]GOT [/b]a membership). Can anybody help me with this problem. Maybe explain it a little step-by-step type since i am not realy into this topic very much. thank you very much!

Posts: 2 02/04/2007 11:43:07	An .asx-File is just a playlist. Open the ASX-File with notepad and look for a URL. Perhaps it starts with mms:// or rtsp:// instead of Then copy that URL. It isn't possible to download it by browser. You need a special program. You cold use Flashget. Get it at www.flashget.com/index_en.htm Paste the URL in there and it starts downloading. EDIT: I just read that it's a membership site, sorry. You could try it if you put your username, then a :, then your password, then an @ after the protocol and before the hostname. If it doesn't work, then either your Download-Manager can't handle such adresses or the login is managed with Sessions or Cookies, etc.
