I really have tried and followed the various guides scattered over the net - however, I just can't get any success. I'll give the code for one of the videos I'm trying to record:

Hello. this is indeed one of the easiest so you are lucky:
Just view the source of the html of the page and you will find where it says the name of the file.....I found it to easily in this one, look: embed src="/video/entertainbig.mov" So that is the name of the video file: entertainbig.mov It is being held in the directory 'video on the server. So, put the full webpage address before it, until you get to the video directory level..like so: http://www.sleater-kinney.com/video/entertainbig.mov Put that into any download manager and download the quicktime videofile. You might have to enter a 'referrer' in, usually it is the address of the page you got the video link from. In this case the referrer is http://www.sleater-kinney.com/video/entertainbig.html I hope you got it. Note, it's NEVER this easy usually, this site has made no attempt to hide anything at all...so I don't believe you when you say you have read ANY guides to downloading mediafiles! Just admit to being lazy! You got the link anyway :) |

I've been able to download this and also another .mov file (dlddl10.streamos.com/acd3...riot.mov), but both refuse to open in Real Player. I've also tried to convert them to DVD format but the software (MOV Convertor) says it's not recognised by Quick Time. Is this as common fault? I really am trying to search forums for answers. Thanks again. |
